Kayak Ride, Kohala Mountains Irrigation Ditch, Hawaii
A fascinating Eco Tourism Kayak adventure through irrigation ditchs and 10 TUNNELS in the Kohala Mountains of Hawaii…One tunnel is a mile long. These tunnels were formerly excavated by Japanese prisoners to direct rain water to the sugar cane fields miles below.
What makes it more of an adventure, is the fact that during flash floods, it is dangerous while paddling through the dark, narrow tunnels.
